Answers to the questions we get most
I've forgotten my password
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a reset link. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your junk folder — then email us and we'll sort it.
How do clients book with me?
Every account gets its own booking link (Settings → Booking link & growth). Put it in your Instagram or TikTok bio. The same screen gives you a QR code you can save or print onto a card for the mirror or the window.
Can I stop people booking at silly times?
Yes — Settings → Booking rules. Set how much notice you need, how far ahead people can book, how late they can ask to rearrange, and how much tidy-up time you want after each appointment.
Someone keeps booking and not turning up
Open their client card and turn on Block from booking online. They stay in your diary and you can still book them in yourself — they just can't book themselves through your link. You can also ask for a deposit from new clients only, in Settings → Booking link & growth.
How do I move an appointment?
Press and hold the booking in the diary for a moment, then slide it up or down to the new time. Let go and it's saved. If it lands on top of another booking we'll ask first, so you can double-book on purpose but never by accident.
What's the Opportunities screen?
It's the green card on your home screen — a short list of things worth doing today, worked out from your own diary. Clients who've gone quiet, a day next week that's looking light, a gap between two bookings that would take a cut, people who came once and never came back. Every one has a button that does the thing, so you're never left with a number and no next step. Nothing is invented: if there's genuinely nothing to chase, it says so and shows you nothing. The card disappears from your home screen on those days too.
Consent forms and health questions (tattoo, piercing, beauty)
Every booking gets its own private link. The client answers your health questions, reads your consent wording, types their name and signs with a finger — on their own phone, before they turn up. You'll see it on the booking, with anything they answered "yes" to flagged for a quick word. We record the date, time and device they signed from alongside it, so there's a proper record if it's ever needed. Change the questions and the wording in Settings → Forms & aftercare — the starting point is written for your trade, but the words should be yours.
How do I send them the form?
Open the booking → Send them the link. It opens WhatsApp or Messages on your own phone with the text ready to go, or emails it if they've no number saved. There's a Copy link button too. Bookings that haven't been filled in yet are marked in the diary with a small pencil.
Can clients send me a reference picture?
Yes — it's on the same link. They can send up to six, shrunk on their phone first so it doesn't take all day on studio wifi, and they show up on the booking next to everything else.
Aftercare messages
For tattoo and piercing, Hathly checks in automatically on day 3 and day 14 after a finished appointment — once each, never for a no-show or a cancellation. Edit the wording in Settings → Forms & aftercare, where {first} becomes their first name and {job} becomes what they had done. Turn it off there too.
A big piece booked over several sessions
Open the client's card → Bigger pieces → Start a new piece. Give it a name and what you've quoted for the whole thing, then tick it on each booking as you go. You'll see the sessions, everything they've paid and what's left, all in one place. Deleting a piece only removes the grouping — every session stays in the diary.
I've taken on a second chair
Settings → Your team → Add someone. They get their own colour down the edge of their bookings, their own filter in the diary, and clients can pick them by name on your booking page — or choose "Anyone". Untick the services someone doesn't do and they'll never be offered for them. Billing is £9.99 per chair per month for the first eight chairs and £4.99 for each one after, so two people is £19.98 and ten people is £89.90. Extra logins are always free — you only pay per chair.
Someone's left
Settings → Your team → tap them → Remove. If they have bookings in the diary they're hidden rather than deleted, so your history and your figures stay right. You can't remove the last person — the diary has to belong to somebody.
Can I put the booking form on my own website?
Yes. Settings → Booking link & growth → Copy the code, then paste those two lines into any page — Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, a plain HTML site. Your booking form appears there, in your own page, and resizes itself as people move through it. Nothing to install and nothing to maintain: it updates whenever your services or hours do.
How do I get reviews?
Mark a booking as done and Hathly asks that client the next day — one link, a rating and a couple of words. Four stars and up can go on your booking page (shown as a first name and an initial, never a full name), and anything lower comes quietly to you instead of going public. Add your Google review link in Settings → Reviews and happy clients get offered that straight after. You can hide or delete any review at any time.
Can I message all my clients at once?
Yes — Settings → Message your clients. Pick who it goes to (everyone, people with nothing booked, people you haven't seen in a while, or one of your labels), write it in your own words, and you'll see exactly how many people it reaches before you can send. Your name and a one-tap "no more messages" link are added automatically, and anyone who opts out is left out of everything you send afterwards. One blast every 30 minutes.
A client asked not to be messaged
Open their client card and turn off Happy to get offers and news — or they can tap the link at the bottom of any message and do it themselves. Either way, reminders about appointments they've actually booked keep going.
Do my clients need the app?
No. They book through a normal web page, and reminders arrive by email or text. The app is for you.
What does it cost?
£9.99 per chair per month after a 14-day free trial, and £4.99 a month for every chair past the eighth. One chair £9.99 · three £29.97 · eight £79.92 · sixteen £119.84. No card is needed to start, and you can cancel any time from Settings → Subscription & billing.
A "chair" is a person set up in your diary. Logins are free and unlimited — give everyone their own password without it changing the bill. And there is no commission of any kind: we never take a cut of a booking, a new client or anything you're paid.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Subscription & billing → manage your plan. Cancelling stops future payments and your diary stays readable to the end of the period you've paid for.
Is my clients' information safe?
Every salon has its own separate database, and names, numbers, email addresses and notes are encrypted before they're stored. We don't sell data and there are no advertising trackers. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Can I get my client list out?
Any time — Settings → Booking link & growth → Download client list (CSV). It's yours.
I want my account and everything in it deleted
Settings → Delete account. It permanently erases your diary — every client, appointment and note. Export your clients first if you want a copy. If you'd rather we did it, email support@hathly.com from your account's email address.
I'm a client of a salon that uses Hathly
Your details live in that salon's own diary and they control them, so please contact the salon directly to change or remove anything. If you can't reach them, email us and we'll help.
Something's gone wrong
Tell us what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead — a screenshot helps enormously. If you can, include your salon name and the device you're on (iPhone, Android, laptop). We'll come back to you with either a fix or a straight answer about when it'll be fixed.
